I was amazed at how much “stuff” came out of the garage to perform a simple diy task .
One of my observations is how much you end up getting out for even the smallest task.
I've started putting bits away as I've used them so the end of job clear up is a lot smaller - occasionally I have to get something back out again, but I prefer the tidy as I go method now.

My garage is an absolute mess at the moment probably half a dozen jobs worth of tools layered up just too busy to tidy anything at the moment. I found time to wash the E53 and BMW at the weekend but they are drive ornaments at the moment again no time to drive them - who said retirement was relaxing

Dragged the coupe out of the garage today into the sunshine, looked at it and put it back in again as I couldn't be bothered

It's now as ready as it's going to be for the annual 250 mile trip to Horndean tomorrow. :)
I’m already >1/2 way down :)
Nice 180 mile ~62 mph and >37mpg run

Not “taps arf” unfortunately as roof decided not to open. Really need to get some live data from the roof so I can find out why it’s intermittent :(

Still the AC was blowing cold and I didn’t get sunburn

Gutted for you Roger, I've been looking forward to Saturday for ages now so know how you feel. Do you not have a friendly local garage who may be able to sort a temporary fix out?
All is not lost. I will be in the wife's car. No chance of a quick repair job Dave, and most decent outfits are booked at least a week ahead.
I really didn't want to miss this one as I expect to miss next years event.
See you there.:D

Made the most of the good weather and washed my car this morning before work.
All in preparation for replacing the front grille this weekend (a bumper off job) with an all black Panamericana grille. Shown here in preparation for putting black aluminium mesh behind it.

E convertible passed MOT following initial fail (as expected). Good advice as always thanks chaps - it was ball joints plus control arms. Knew it didn't feel right. Opted against doing it myself as too technical with the arms and entrusted it to those wot know! Had no other advisories. 550 quid including the mot cost at 50 quid and a full alignment. Not too shocking I thought. Feels very tight and responsive now.

This is what I mean people never do these things as preventative maintenance but, when they are all done, as you say it’s tight as new.
