Booked it's MOT for Friday

I have been removing my light fittings in my lounge some 18' up in the air, after fixing some home made scaffolding I had been up there a couple of hours, it was so hot, water was running in my eyes, but I did it and time to cool off.

What better way than to take the SL for a spin, I forget it has got cooled seats, so I pressed the button, after a couple of hours I was cool and dry, almost too cool ion some respect, so when John complained about his seats not being good, I did agree on principle as they only have little tiny fans. So in my case they worked very well, I think that my passion leather has more perforations. I do love this SL to drive since Colin fixed the upper wishbones.

loosing your bearings

Wheel bearing passenger side changed. It clearly din't enjoy the 13 hour days cruising at 80 mph in 35 degree heat last month. It has signs of having got very hot but luckily hadn't welded itself to the stub axle. It gave me a bit of a fright when I pulled the outer cap off - put the screwdriver behind the flange and started to lever it off and it shot off like a bullet spraying old black grease everywhere!
In the end had to dremel a slot in the inner bearing inner race then tap it with a drift and hammer to get it to start moving then applied heat and worked it off after about 20 minutes.

All done and nice and quiet now. Will do the other side this weekend if the weather stays nice...

Not to it but in it, Went to lepe beach very crowded had a weak cup of tea at the cafe then moved into the New Forest for a picnic, invaded by ponies looking for a free lunch then back to the coast this time Milford on sea, we ate ice cream which melted rapidly with a great view across the solent to The Isle of Wight, then home. not the most exciting day but better than going to work

Decided on what to do to replace the second faulty ABC pump, fingers crossed I get it back soon!!!

Removed rear section of exhaust. taken to a fabricators to have centre mounting bracket strengthened. Removed all lower body panels including the rear bumper. cleaned and polished bodywork that was underneath panels. Sprayed Dinitrol inside all cavities including lower door sections. Treated underneath surface rust patches with Dinitrol cure rust. Sprayed with underbody wax. Removed inner wheel panels. Cleaned and treated with underbody wax. 10 days so far but going back together now.

Replaced pollen filter. Really quick and easy. In my Primera
I had to completely remove the glove box and a panel to gain access.
Checked all fluids, tyres and torqued the wheels ready for a trip to West Sussex tomorrow. Gave the 203 a nice clean as it's its birthday today. I've been a Mercman for one whole year and I'm loving it.
