Mobilo man is my new super hero. He went to the nearest MB dealer and returned with new and appropriate battery £136.00. Scoffed at my mention of Star diagnostics (We're way beyond that now) and politely suggested I'd nudged the speed limiter - the car hadn't gone into limp mode. Oh joy, no mechanical disasters, no charges beyond the price of the battery and no long wait for a workshop to squeeze me into their busy schedule. Top down motoring is restored to it's rightful place in the sun.

Important note of thanks
Unless I'd avidly read this forum, I wouldn't have known I had Mobilo cover. I couldn't have bandied terms like 'Star diagnostics' or 'limp mode'.
Who knows, I may now take command of the speed limiter controls. I'm learning my Mercedes.
Ah....SPBSASW....

Nice! Is that calculated or WHP?

Interested to see what gear the run was in.

E: NVM obviously Wheel power as the first run was around 500bhp, which is around 580 Crank HP.

Impressive numbers, 20 WHP shy of the V12, and 100 LB-FT short. A lot less weight too!
As you rightly say these are whp figures Alex. My latest post has the flywheel 684 bhp and 853lb ft torque ...pretty impressive I thought- feels it too!
Oh and 4th!

That's was a very quick drive home John, I'd have offered my private plate as that is now on retention as the pug goes Thursday

Nice one Acid:)

Enjoy your drive home John.

Secondary cat delete coming up:D
Thanks Roger, sadly Friday afternoons out of Brummy are always an anti climax ... but on the odd tickle...
Still torn on the exhaust components - this is my daily driver and just not sure to be honest . It’s great when you’re at MSL hearing the hooligan noise , but every day? Jury is out atm...
Sympathetic resonator delete possibly ...

Late afternoons out of Brum is never fun John, I do it 2-3 times a week and it's so painful at times.

I can imagine, there are quite a few nice bit to play on the A41 ;)

You should hear Sarim's G wagon, he put it on the dyno when I was fitting their wifi a couple of years ago, it makes your insides rumble at full chat, nice at time but maybe not when you 30' in the air routing cables

Hmm I have not seen it recently but I knew he thought about changing it so could well be the same.
Thinking I need to spend some time at MSL again, dyno day GTG I'm thinking

The only time I ever use it is going through an section with average speed cameras or if a police car is following me. Stops the speed drifting up!

Me too, perfect for that job.

Nice drive home from Soton docks down A's 31,35 & 38 in the sun. Apart from a half hour queue between Ringwood and Dorchester. No roadworks etc, just 2 lanes into 1. When are they going to do something about this stretch of road. Took me 3.5hours. has taken over 6 on a bank holiday weekend.(never again). Lovely to be in her again after 18 days away. Covered in dust, wash scheduled.
