Ok I'll say it......winner winner chicken dinner, there.
Nice work.
I recently tinkered with my brakes and had them sticking after new pads, this lovely forum pointed out my pistons are made of a type of plastic/resin and can swell so didn't relax off the disc....maybe yours are too? I think I posted in the brakes section.

Mine are definitely metal… what with them rusting and all - although I wouldn’t put it past Mercedes finding a plastic that rusts…:cool::p:D

Went to move the 55 onto the back of the lorry as we are having our driveway concreted and it was dead. Voltage check on boot battery, 2.4 volts. I'm sure there is a drain on the battery somewhere. Battery now on charge.
55 on the lorry, with son's old CLK battery.

It's a pain, mine can sit 2 weeks and then "convenience function are unavailable". Any longer and red messages scare you into worry. These cars sit there doing something! Bought myself a trickle charger, works a treat, just got to find a way of sorting a fixed installation....

Sprayed half a can of turbo cleaner through the E class turbo whilst it was running….as a treat at 126k miles :)
And spray cleaned the exhaust back pressure sensor .
Interested in how you did this - is it possible on an OM642 and does it affect the DPF?

Using The small pcv pipe that goes into the black batwing air intake on the front of the turbo . I pulled the the pcv orange seal/pipe out slightly and then pushed the thin nozzle pipe for the turbo cleaner can into this gap .
The can says they don’t hurt dpf’s , but I don’t have one anyway .
My engine is the om642

you can see the orange seal where it has come out of the batwing

Thanks - did you notice any difference after cleaning? Mine is currently on 177k miles and I can often hear the turbo whistling now

I didn’t notice any difference , I just do it as preventative maintenance.

Have been cleaning CLK head lights using chrome polish and a electric drill, very effective
Damn side cheaper than polishing kits at 15-30£.
I believe it's advisable to spray clear coat. Is this the same as car body clear coat paint?
Have some in an aerosol can still unused.

Used to have a C63...
I'd get some proper UV protecting sealant. About £7 off t'internet, will do a few treatments and preserve your efforts for longer.

I hear that Ferrari's have similar drain issues so you are in good company!

First time out in 6 months and it started 1st time.
Giving it a nice airing now. I'd forgotten how lovely it feels. Everything built up to a standard not down to a price.

A good airing, with the roof on. Really Kiwi!!!!
