Wheels had gone out of balance, the reason was a first for me.

Only the Vito left! W639/1 OM646
The last few days the Vito's steering developed that well known vibration at 80-85mph.

A little irritated that I was going to have to get the wheels re-balanced, I took them off to ascertain which one had possibly lost a weight and, give them a bit of a clean so I wouldn't get them re-balanced whilst covered in crud.

When the nearside wheel was taken off I was confronted with a garden snail stuck to the inside of the rim. Pulled it off and put it on the chemists balance scales wondering if a snail could possibly make that much difference. It weighed in at a hefty 10g.
Put the wheel back on (without snail) and, no more vibration.

It must have had one hell of a headache after spinning around inside the rim for 300 miles.

84mph for a snail!
Is this a record?

Probably not. I've had spiders in my door mirrors often. I feel sorry for them. There's even one who now wing-walks holding a red flag!

Funnily enough I had the same recently. Wonder what it thought as it whizzed round in tight circles at 85mph- bad night out?

I used to have a racing snail. In an effort to speed it up, I tried removing it's shell.

It just made it a little sluggish ......

Snail walks into a bar.
"Pint please."
"We don't serve snails in here", says the barman, and he picks up the snail and throws it across the street.
Three weeks later the snail goes back into the bar.
"What did you do that for?"
