Time was when I used to see these G wagons quite often some 10 years ago, but I hav'nt seen any in quite a while.

What does happen to most Merc's when they reach the end of the road, they can't all find thier way across to asia & 3rd world - can they?

My local breakers yard being biggest in west sussex (Bridges at Pease Pottage) told me that all Merc's they get are shipped by container to Asia, no matter what condition, age or damage thier in !

MB thought that the ML would replace it. they over estimated production by 500.000 vehcles, on Ebay USA they were selling crates of ML wheels and engines.

I saw a brand new, UK plated LHD model yesterday - are they being specially prepared or is still a production line running somewhere?

G-Wagens are still produced by Magna Steyr in Austria for DCAG (and will continue in production to 2010).

However, they have not been imported into the UK by DCUK for several years.

I think that a small independent specialist now imports then into the UK to order.

The G-Wagon will be facelifted shortly and receive a new interior and (I expect) new engines.
