Where is the dipstick on my E220 Diesel convertible 2015 please? The yellow handle has fallen off!

Hi there,

I am trying to sell my car and when a potential buyer looked the dipstick handle came off in his hand, I have a replacement dipstick coming today but I cannot find the dipstick to pull out (with pliers) to then replace with the new one.

Surprisingly a google search is no help either. It definitely has a dipstick, is the E220 2015 model, not one of these no dipstick ones.

Please can someone tell me or give me a photo so I can see where it goes?

Well how long have you had the car,,, and you dont know where the dipstick is ? god help the next buyer .Still, if i can help - is this like the handle that came off

Dont find any model like yours with a manual pull out dipstick its electronic . [ only a guess ] - that the handel is used as a plug only, so oil service can be done by sucking oil up the dipstic tube. Ask the guy who pulled the handle out where he took it from .

Looks to be at the rear LHS of the engine.

The easier to find is the ATF cap. As you look in it's left, above the exhaust.
Is it possible this was removed? It wouldn't have the wire on it.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the dipstick in the five years I’ve had mine. I would, if ever the car had given a low oil warning, but it hasn’t so it just goes happily between annual services.
