I 2005 BMW E60 530d. 2012 Mercedes e class estate.
Can anyone advise me where I can buy a replacement drivers side wing mirror glass for a 2004 c class 220 estate, which is heated and folding. Plenty of 'silly' ones advertised at about £5-£6 but probably rubbish.

Give MB Grangemouth a call, they do forum discount and you’ll get the correct one with the convex outer portion. It’s what I had to do when a pheasant decided to fly up at me earlier this year.

You have folding mirror glass.....
As mentioned MB direct is your best bet, it may well also be auto dimming.

Avoid the rubbisj

If it wasn't coming into the winter I would just use a stick on replacement but it wouldn't be heated. Just checked with Eurocarparts and it's £55 but wouldn't be auto dimming. I will check tomorrow if that is actually what I have.

Talking to the lad on the parts desk at Merc a while back he reckoned a replacement heated & dimming glass for my R Class was around the £300 mark .... hence a lot of people just replace them with heated only.

Eek not wrong just had a quick look on mine and the part no A 166 810 04 19 comes in at a nice 380 notes, the passener non dimming is less than a 1/4 the price. Some magic in the AD mirrors

Dimming is one of those things that you really appreciate when it is there.

OP you can see if it is auto dimming at its a slightly more a blue/green colour and a frame around the mirror glass.

Just compare it to the passenger mirror at night and you will see the difference when lights from behind reflect therein.

I recently replaced mine as it had gone rather bronze and cloudy. Typical of the auto dimming glasses after a while I understand. No way was I paying best part of £400 when the car was only £2k. So, I bought a cheap heated glass on ebay. I admit, the blind spot part on the edge looks just like the rest of the glass, but it'll do until I can find a sensibly priced alternative.

I've just changed mine on the w204 to LCI mirrors. Drivers side has the lovely auto dimming glass and near side doors not . I'm not paying 300 sheets for a mirror glass!

Excuse my ignorance, what's LCI here? I know of BMW LCI.

These cold mornings have given me opportunity to see the heater in my cheapo glass works just fine. Unfortunately it's also shown now the N/S mirror isn't heating. Grrr.

Hi
Both are heated, it is only the driver's side that dims.
Well that explains that then! Shame though as one is brighter for one eye when the cabin is lovely and dim otherwise.

Hi
I have always found it strange that MB deem not to dim the passenger side when other manufacturers do (VAG certainly do).
