I had a faulty nearside rear window - stuck up, with quiet motor:( the other three working fine.
Have been checking window fuses - didnt find any that had "blown". But, now have all windows firmly shut and wing mirrors that swing in and out as they should but mirror glass that will not adjust.
Everything else appears to be working ok. Looks to me like they share the same fuse.
I know - should have left it alone.....

5 weeks ago the Cool water out of our fridge stopped working & so did the Ice maker.......As I Deffo did NOT want to strip down the door & the mechcanisum so I left it well alone

Was bored this morning so thought "I'll look at fixing the fridge" ............BUGGER ME went to it tried it & it worked first time!!!!!!!!!!! seeing an "opportunity" I spent 30 mins just thumpin & bangin about in the kitchen & then announced to Marie "OK Darling I've repaired the fridge"

MANY MANY "Brownie Points" were earned today & according to Marie "I'm such a Clever Husband"

Well done wish I had thought of that!

I'm in the dog house since re-tuning the digital DVD and losing all the timer recordings. No good telling the missus the entire country had to do the same thing - its all my fault.

Think I'll get a hammer and crash and bash around in the living room for a bit and tell her its all working now - cause a man on t'internet told me to!!!

The mirror glass not moving could be a broken wire,,a big problem with folding mirrors

Window and mirror fault occured at same time.
Wire wiggling required then.
Oddly the three working windows and sunroof open and close fine using door remote

The odd thing here is the the front window controller operates the mirror, and not the rear one,,the brushes can get stuck on the widow motors and often just giving them a whack will start them working again

Hope it doesn't go wrong again, brownie points removed!

Incidentally,my Samsung fridge did the same thing and the fan at the rear of the fridge stopped working which caused the problem had frozen all the water works inside it. Fortunately under extended guarantee so fixed!

Malcolm is correct, broken wires in the mirror or motor brushes short circuited. Removing fuses can cause coding and hall sensor faults in the door control modules as they forget there limits.

"Removing fuses can cause coding and hall sensor faults in the door control modules as they forget there limits." Thanks for the tip Merx. Anything that can be done to clear door control module faults ? Battery disconnect ?

Just to conclude this problem. Car was booked into local independent MB - no faults shown up on STAR. Fuses all checked. Faulty switchpack (around gearshift)was prooved by swapping in unit from another vehicle.
Window and mirror switchpack replaced with new part. All working very well.

Ah fresh air...........:)
