You are right, that unless an independent adjudicated the voting it would not be an based upon accurate data. However, the idea of an award I like and will consider this in 2016 plans.

It is unlikely for a person to review when they have not been there, and looking through the admin records it shows that multiple company ratings by 1 x user is very rare. The website has a method to avoid multiple entries btw.

What proof do you require that someone who is reviewing an indy has actually been there & had work done?

The reason I ask is tripadvisor have recently had to explore avenues to avoid the countless fraudulent reviews, both pro & con, on their site. They are talking about requiring a copy of a receipt from anyone posting a review.

Will MBO be doing the same or something similar to guarantee the integrity of the reviews?

Something to consider, I suspect Trip Advisor will see far less reviews being published with multiple security steps to the site.

Its a mix between the easy of placing a review and the security in place for it to be trustworthy one, I suspect the mix is a very difficult formula and one right now I have not got the answer to.
