Year 2000 CL500- Best car in the world?

I have a 12 year old CL500.....love the car. I've owned it for 4 months and today I had the longest drive so far....just shy of 200 miles.

What a car!

I've driven quite a few nice car over the years, but I reckon the CL500 is the best of the lot. Such a relaxed drive .....and you arrive refreshed. I find it even more incredible that this car is more than a decade old, but still manages to deliver such an amazing drive. I even got an average 28mpg on the run....not too bad!

Just had to post ...these are great cars. If you are thinking of buying one.....choose carefully and you won't be disappointed.

200 miles .... sure that's only up the road. Take it for a proper drive before there's no petrol .....

Yes Stuart i have to agree with you on that a truly stunning motor, i test drove a CL and an SL, i picked the SL only because i had an S500 and fancied a convertible...love the 500 V8 engine...you also use MBS as well as a lot of Forum members, good guys to know if you own MB.

Couldn't agree more - take it for a decent run. Explore the Loire Valley, or the Limousin.

Cars love to be run and you will find that yours will reward you too. You take a good car for a decent trip, and you come back with a great one!

Yes I've taken my SL500 and the S600 all over France. There are few more pleasurable ways to explore the continent.

I have done the Sweden run through Europe twice now in the SL great, I might take the CL this Time and go a different route
