I believe you just break the seal, another 202 owner would know better.

The glass is sold on its own, you could put a long one in there.

Be aware the lower apertures in the bumper of a non AMG 202 are brake cooling ducts, I would put them in the bottom of the headlight as Malcolm has suggested. Was going to put some there myself, but was never happy with what light fittings were available at the time.

Regarding taking the headlight lenses off of a 202: There were two types of Headlight fitted to the 202, Valeo on early cars and Bosch on the later ones, the change came around the time they facelifted the model in late 1997.
To identify between the two, the Valeo/earlier cars had a single cover at the back of the headlight, whereas the Bosch item had two round covers.
The Bosch lenses are easier to remove, just pop half a dozen or so clips around the edge the headlight, this can be achieved if carefull with the headlight still fitted in the though fiddly.
The Valeo ones are different in the fact though they still come off, the lenses have a plastic surround with built in clips that just need pushing down and pulling the lense at the same time though from memory this headlight has to be removed completely from the car to remove the lense.
When removing the lenses it will definetly stick to the seal, this will damage it due to the material it is made of, and new I thought they were expensive.

Oh dear, looks very complex. And do the lights stick on or how do they stay in place?

Some members though that my 230 running lights were too short, so after much thought I removed the 2 grills holding them and worked out that I could cut away the raised part and have them sitting flush with the grill, this enabled me to fit the 8 lamp version and so much better, they look part of the car and not stuck on. There was no way that I was going to use the fog lamps as no mercedes that I know of have round running lights.

Dead cheap on Ebay, they come in 6,8,10 or12 leds under £10 pair, all it needs is the switch, also Ebay about £12.

What a great bit of customising, I would love to do something similar to my C class. Just a thought, have you tried getting hold of some Red ones for the rear ?

With the right auto switch yes on with ignition and off if you turn the lamps on. I am away from home for a few days, please PM me again and I will see to it when I get back home.

Hi Malcom
Have you managed to check please

Fuse 27 in fuse block C, this is the steering lock, use a piggy back fuse and it is ignition on live.

Your dimming turn off wire you wire to one of the side lamps
