The 20k/ 2 years thing came out in the US directly from Pentosin themselves. Sure it’s going to be skewed for sales but remember:

Oil has a chronological lifetime as well as a performance one.

ABC fluid sees a lot more abuse than brake fluid does.

Does make sense, what puzzles me is that MB still say its not necessary :-/
Mind you I guess most cars make it through the 3 years warranty period.

E Class needed cleaning after a "spirited" drive this morning, though I've been struggling for space recently with the 190 taking the garage over for the last few months. That's now running however so managed to move it out and get the E into it's place on the lift to give it a good going over.

I'd done it a few times outside on the ground but only the bits that show really as it's a struggle to get anywhere else. Under the sills and the inside of the wheels were not pretty and, whilst looking a lot better now, will still need some more time spending on them.

I'd loved to have gone for a blast round in the 190 but it's on SORN at the moment and there's no way I'm going to lose nearly a months tax by doing it online today. Hopefully next week, though weather dependant...

John stop being a ****** wuss and remember the 8 step plan!!

1. Go ahead and make the purchase whatever it may be, LSD, remap, new TV, trip away etc. etc.
2. Keep it quiet for as long as possible (this keeps earache down to a minimum)
3. As and when the new purchase is about to be delivered or you are about to go on that trip with the lads, start dropping subtle hints.
4. SWMBO finds out about said purchase/up coming trip
5. All hell breaks loose (be prepared for a rocky ride for up to a week)
6. SWMBO calms down (but has still not forgiven you so tread carefully)
7. After around two weeks everything is back to normal.
8. Start planning the next purchase/trip

Jobs a good one and it will lead to years of happy relationship bliss. Ask my ex-bitch and current wife.
