I think, but not sure i was told that it could only be 0.5 to 0.75 degrees out, other wise would throw up a code. The tracking has to be done with the steering wheel in the direct ahead.
Ok with the steering straight I have removed the ring behind to take it apart and check it out , the ring has a groove right round the circumference and has pick ups equally spaced within it, so if one of these were faulty I suspect I will have moved the fault by replacing it tha last time by turning it to its further most positin and then back 2.5 turns which would be the central position and steering wheel straight. The steering wheel initially picked this position only when you were on a left lock and since replacing it was picking the fault up very quickly to the right , so I figured one of these sensors was dirty and it has now had a big clean while dismantled and ready for placing behind the steering wheel later this evening.
My question is while turning the cartridge to the right to where the ribbon stops it from going further , do I count 2.5 turns given that it takes three turns lock to lock , but take it an extra turn off the fully wound position first then 2.5 turns ?
Perhaps no one has gone this far just thought I would ask if anyone knew please.
