Simoniz do an efficient cleaner.Took my power window four button unit out and dismantled it. Drivers button had broken on the right side the little leg with a hole to fit onto the main unit with the electronic board inside.
Took a little piece of light metal (electric round wire connector) filed off bits made it smaller then shaped to stick inside the button with superglue.
When dried put button back in the main control unit. All held together button clicking up and down.
Put the window unit back in the door card. Had a nightmare taking door off and putting it on again but managed to get it on bar four broken door card plugs.
Tested the switch unit and all windows going up and down and boot working. Will order some new button covers off ebay only a few quid.
Polished the drivers side door and glass, lots of paw prints wrestling with the door card. Cleaned the door card and inside the drivers side. Cream colour so of course shows up the grubby marks. Gave the outside a quick shine up and went out to buy petrol. Rain came on but was glad to be able to fix my broken window button.
Lying down now as shattered wrestling with a clk door card last night and today. Mercedes do not make removing the door card easy or putting it back on. Had to use a rubber mallet to bang the sides down, but I persisted and it paid off. Not a job I'd like to repeat lol. Anyone know good cleaner to get dirty cream seats and plastic bright again?
Most of Simoniz stuff is really good and bl00dy cheap, from Tesco.Simoniz do an efficient cleaner.

I normally use a wheel brush and microfibre cloths but will now look into these. Cheers! The wheels look great have you considered buying some ‘wheel woolies’ to clean the wheel barrels
Get a battery conditioner on the boot battery and make sure the emergency locks work…Picked up an sl350 r230. I had intended to do the boot link seals but upon cleaning the drains and removing a lot of gunk.... the book no longer leaked! The battery light is currently on even thought the battery and alternator are new, however the serpentine belt is extremely frayed. My hope is that this is the culprit and with a new belt and tensioner the batteries will get charged and I will be back to having full power.... keep your fingers crossed for me

Just changed the starter motor on my S212. What a palava! gone are the days of 2 bolts and you are done. Still it seems back to normal let’s hope the new one lasts 11 yearsI've copied this idea from another forum that I use (A Ford Transit Forum) of all things!
I quite look forward to getting the e-mail notifiers that someone has posted something... De-badged their van, polished it, new wheels maybe... even a new air freshener....
Just a bit of fun really....
