That may be so...but does that mean MB are right?
true, but what about the people who are qualified but either work for themselves or currently dont work in a garage, like myself? i must admit, id be reluctant to pay the premium to buy from MB after reading this thread!
To try and bring the situation into context if i sold you (for arguments sake a leather suite) and you cleaned the said suite with a product not endorsed by me and it destroyed the leather who would be liable???
OK malcolm where is the proof to the above statement also how can a MORE efficient brake pad fullfill the above quote
If the op had used approved merc pads this thread would not exist
Quality thread this one!!!!!!!!
So let me get this right....... Fitted green stuff pads to genuine MB discs and the discs are faulty? No fitting issue? Green stuff pads cant cause the issue because they are More expensive than genuine pads?
Just for the record i fit several sets of pads and discs every week. GENUINE DISCS AND PADS. Never ever have a problem.
You must have got very unlucky S Speed.

are you replacing the discs because theyre worn out OR because theyre warped? and WHY do MB discs seem to wear so fast? i never replaced discs as often on our fords as i do on the MB!
Over the years i have had many problems with non genuine brakes.
I never have a problem with genuine brakes.
Power to weight ratio possible, but I sold my SL at 55k with the original rear disc, and they were still good, the fronts were replaced at 30k because they fractured all over
quite possibly the weight etc Malcolm although a 170BHP mondeo will be running at similar levels to a C220 cdi id imagine. perhaps theyre designed to wear fast to give shorter stopping distances? i really dont know the answer
so you ONLY ever replace brakes that are worn out?

YES. Like i said, i never ever have an issue with genuine brakes.
Rear brakes are only working about 25% compared to the fronts unless you are fully loaded ask any mechanic
And 99% do not get problems with after market brakes either
Actually is 28% for the rear
99% of who? Using what products?
And 99% do not get problems with after market brakes either
