Hi

Ive got a 1995 w202 c200 and I was wondering if you can swap the 4 speed auto box for a 5 or 6 speed auto? Wil it just 'bolt on' or does it involve any messing around?

Cheers
Chris

The 772.6 box requires electrics so it would be very hard

Yes, as Malcolm above. My mate has the 4 speed C200 and I have the later 5 speed. To be honest, his car seems just fine with 4 gears. I've also heard that the 4 speed box is more reliable. Stick with the 4 speed !

Ok, ill stick with the 4 speed then. I saw someone on here talking about swapping the diff in a 202. I imagine that is easier than a gearbox job. Could i change the ratios with a diff out of another model?

Yes the manual diff has a different ratio to the auto, you could modify the box so that it is a first gear start
