That is OK there are many independent repair shops run by ex MB engineers,,, 99% are very good and a fraction of the MB price,,where are you in the UK

You would live there ;) I have a good one in Nuneaton, and another in Warrington,,both quite a distance..

I will try and find someone in between.

Why not start a new thread asking for an indie

This is a later car than I was thinking,, and really much easier and cheaper to work on as this is the second generation,,even if you pay out £25 to £50 for the read out you will know what to do,,and I can give all of the details for changing what ever it is

You have held the switch for 10 sec both in the roll bar up mode and down mode.

Tried holding the rollbar button for 10 seconds up then 10 seconds down this morning...with key pos2 (all ignition lights on)....unfortunately still flashing.

The fault was investigated by Mertrux in Derby a couple of weeks back, the invoice reads

" Electrical system check, record diagnosis, 2 faults in rv control unit. Unable to erase fault codes. Requires replacement rv control unit"

is this any help?

Yes you can, and no problem,,this should be a not too expensive repair as the roof section is fine
