They are in administration and buyers are there according to Brundle yesterday, I think Lawrence Stroll is top of the pile and Lance will drive for them next year. Liberty have agreed to support them so there is no problem while they are sold on.

Good result for Lewis and Mercedes today.

Shame for Bottas to have lost out on 2nd. I really hoped he’d punctured Vettel’s tyre just to give Lewis a bigger cushion for the rest of the season. :p

I know he was a bit irked at being labelled a ‘wing man’ but he needs to MTFU and realise he doesn’t have the pace to keep with Lewis.

Some races he is quicker (Baku where he was unlucky as an example). But overall Lewis is the quicker of the two and will give Mercedes the most points. Hence he gets asked to play the defensive role.

Mercedes are going to have to up their game still. They were very lucky this weekend. They need to hope they can improve the car to get themselves back on top.

Doesn’t bode well for LH as he’s never won a title when he’s won at Hungary. Last time he did Rosberg won the title. So hopefully he can break that bogey this year.

Shame for RedBull today. Wonder if they will have the same issues with Honda next year?

All in all it’s looking to be a good final run over the last 9 races.

Excellent defensive driving from Bottas today that was a team performance.
Unlucky with the SV clash, but he was getting overtaken anyway. His tyres were gone.

An unexpected win for LH considering Ferraris speed advantage on hot tracks like Hungary.
It's not over for Ferrari by a long way and Mercedes need to find some more speed and rear grip from somewhere.

Christian Horner must be so cheesed off with Renault power units failing on the team. MV was on for some good points today otherwise. Whether jumping into Honda power next season will bring success is yet to be seen. Toto Wolff was wise to refuse Red Bull Mercedes engines this year. Their package would have beaten the works Mercedes IMO.

Max's MGU-K was at fault and interestingly Red Bull are not using the latest and supposedly more reliable unit from Renault

I’m still not seeing how they are going to aid overtaking.

Especially when comparing to a F2 car which have no trouble in following closely and overtaking

The idea is to reduce the amount of air they push out of the side of the wing, and removing the small bits that sit on top reduces that as well. Brawn has masterminded it all so it must work.

Blown axles are also banned

I understand what they’re trying to achieve.

Just still think the front wing looks too complicated and won’t aid them much.

But I’ll reserve judgment until Australia next year.

I jut go on Ross Brawn knowing what he is doing, the rear wing will be wider and deeper as well and no winglets on brake ducts.

The new front wing is also the same width as the car so 20cm wider than the current ones.

Time will tell!!!

Sorry, didn’t mean my post to come across as I know best. I know Ross knows his sh!t.

I was just looking at it purely from the physical appearance and similarities between the current and proposed designs.

As you say. Time will tell.

And as they'll be following more closely, what's the betting that we'll see more clipped wings (track debris, with all that usually entails) during the race?

Lol, didn't read it like that.

I saw and IV with him at Silverstone and he explained why the small changes will make a difference and it is literally to reduce the wake of a car therefore making it easier for the car behind to follow, by taking the top layer off the front wing, removing the brake duct winglets, no blown front axles and simplifying the side pod makes a massive difference so should promote closer racing, he has an impressive team including Pat Symonds working on it and the 2021 proposal.

I just hope it works but those new front wings are very wiiiiiide!!!!!!!

I actually they need to remove a lot of that stuff tbh and the tracks need to be made with more potential passing places on them .... the Indy stuff has no bother with overtaking on their oval tracks.

I don’t recall as many processions when I watched f1 back in the 80’s and 90’s but maybe there were...
