Just been reading that. Seems that this season is going the same way as last with car issues.

Also means he won’t be able to equal Schumachers pole record at Silverstone unless they ignore the penalty when recording poles.

8th for Hamilton after the penalty. But at least he set his fastest time on Super Softs in Q2 so he can go long.

Going to be a struggle though as not many chances to overtake on such a short track.

The Mercedes strategists need to put their thinking caps on for Lewis. Going long could be the best option, but not a call I'd like to make. He's done it before though, as did Bottas recently!

And Ricciardo qualified below Hamilton but still beat him (those 5 places grid penalty again).
Qualifying pace and race pace are different things.
I suspect in a fair fight Lewis would have had that spoilt brat Vettel.

But he still qualified below Vettel.

Give identical cars and over 1 lap or a race distance I would bet on Hamilton every time.

Reliability cost Ham last year, this year it’s reliability and mistakes by Mercedes that’s costing him.

There is no denying Ham is one of the best drivers ever and I’d say he is the best on the Grid currently.

I wonder if we will see London as the venue for a British GP when SlipperyStone let go of the contract.
It would make an interesting street circuit, although it will be VERY sad to see Silverstone fall by the wayside.

^ I don't think that is the last we will see of the F1 British GP at Silverstone.
The Circuit of Wales is dead in the water, Brands and Donnington unsuitable and I don't see this GP disappearing for long, if at all.

^ indeed...on another tack I'm quite liking VB's style, quietly getting on with business...
