You cannot claim for a full set of rims if only two were damaged, You can only have the 2 damaged rims repaired or replaced. ( NO matter what anyone tells you on here. You could also ask for a new car as well and see how that goes with the legal guys lol) There would be no warranty with them as your old rims didn't have a warranty and you didn't buy the new rims. Whoever bought them would have a warranty with them , but they have chosen not to use it and you cannot force them to.
As for the silver band on the new rims, this is very easy to repaint black to match your existing rims, ( A good well run paint shop or garage would have noticed this and done it before you got the wheels..)and you should let them repaint the rims.. well repaint the outer edges, if you aren't happy with them doing it, go get a wheel specialist to quote you for repainting the edge black, and see how that works out money wise, if not too expensive ask MB if they will pay for it.
Hi
Thank you for your advice. My old rims did have a waranty with them given to me when i purchased the car brand new from another mercedes showroom with all black multi spoke alloys. I have only asked for the 2 rims to be replaced which the bodyshop damaged. And they have agreed to replace. The question here was why the body shop were telling me i would have not warranty as it would be void once the wheels edge was painted black..... which to date they are still adamant on. I have asked them to re imburse me for the 2 new alloys if i could get them myself so that way i can get them resprayed myself. Waiting for a reply on Monday. Lets see..

Contact citizens advice. depending on age of car you'll still be covered by "the sales of goods act...." even if your not covered by manufacturer warranty. You can ask for a replacement (free) or refund of the whole car (minus usage). If you've been in more then twice for the same issue. I know how you feel. Im having similar treatment. Sent car in for some warranty work (tire sensors, start stop, park tronic, and track pad.) the lens on the head light was cracked that I showed them when I dropped it off the 4th time. They valeted the car and sent it back with 7 fault codes. They flooded the headlight and it shorted. Told me it was because the car was involved in an accident. I paid for a replacement head light, figured it was my fault for not fixing it prior and to avoid them telling me "not under warranty". On top of that the warranty work they did, didn't fix anything apart from a crooked steering wheel from the wishbone replacement and told me all the work was carried out. Called them back to get the initial faults fixed and they turned around and tell me I had an accident lol and its not covered by warranty, the bumpers and sensors are badly damaged etc etc and I need to pay for it. Absolutely shocked and disgusted buy such behaviour from Mercedes Benz.

Add insult to injury the car was in twice for the same faults before the cracked lens!! They told me the faults where already there, well yes they were there the first 3 times lol and its still not fixed on the 4th visit!! Idiots I swear.

TBH I don't think ill stay with MB if they don't get their **** together.

Hope you get yours sorted bud

Having just read this thread I think it is getting a touch out of hand.

The bodyshop damaged your wheels so it is up to them to correct the error

The easiest way to do this is to have them fully refurbished to the spec they were, that is not difficult. Not sure why this wasn't done.

Do you have pics of the damage???

Having dealt with liability claims for decades a point here is that under common law you are entitled to be put back in the position you were before Sytners agents damaged the wheels - no better, no worse. You had 4 matching wheels which you say were unmarked before the incident- you are entitled to 4 matching wheels afterwards. No one can argue otherwise. If Sytners say they cant match the other undamaged wheels that is their problem not yours - they will have to replace all 4. If they can match by painting or coating you are entitled to that. I would not get too hung up on the wheel warranty issue now. If something happens in the future you can argue the point then. The wheel manufacturer cannot escape potential liability under any sales act, contract condition or at common law either. Let them get on with matching the wheels one way or another otherwise this is going to drag on forever( and I have seen relatively simple liability claims drag on for years).
