OK. I am ready!! I am ready to join the AMG community and cant wait, just searching for the right vehicle right now. Please help me along the way. Is it worth buying the AMG63S Night Edition over the AMG63S Premium Plus? I see you get a few extras tech wise but there seems quite a price difference? And does the gorgeous sound of an 2018/19 facelift model get lost on the later 2020/21 night edition models due to the particulate filter? Thank you

Sold - 2021 CLA 35 Premium.
Night Edition became a standard part of the Premium Plus spec from mid 2020 onwards and the price increased accordingly.
Comparing the Coupe model in June 2019 then September 2020 and the prices were £80,753 and £83,800 respectively.
Here is a quote from the brochure of what the Night Edition adds -
AMG Night package – AMG exhaust system with two black
chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements, AMG side sill panel
inserts in high-gloss black, beltline trim strip and window
surround in high-gloss black, exterior mirror housings in highgloss
black, front apron in high-gloss black, privacy glass and
rear apron trim strip in high-gloss black.

The Night Edition suits the car and makes it look more menacing IMO, so I think it all comes down to price and if you like it enough to pay for it - older and cheaper or newer and more expensive, as is the way with most things.

Photo taken from September 2020 price list.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Premium Plus would be my choice too :)

There are not a whole lot available in the UK for your chosen year, in either trim package. Which part of the world are you from, by the way ?

Personally I would buy on service history, condition, mileage, number of owners.

If you are particular about interior colour and trim, it becomes even harder.

The OP is looking at a C63 Mark, not an S63 :)

I am looking at low mileage/owners. The Coupe version. I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos on models around the 2019 reg and the exhaust/engine sound is awesome! My concern is whether this is lost in the later Night Edition models. As there are so few around it’s hard to get to see them without travelling all over the country! I like the black, grey and possibly blue, but the latter seems to look very different from advert to advert, not seen one in ‘the flesh’. Thank you for all your feedback, it is very much appreciated

Night edition is only cosmetic such as black trim, mirrors and wheels etc.

Thanks. People have said that. Though, at the point of releasing the Night Edition it seems they added some extra features too (hence the extra buttons above the lights switch), including (it seems) adjustable adaptive cruise control? My main concern is if the amazing engine/exhaust sound has been lost on this latest Night Edition model…………

I dont know about the sound, but from mid 2020 onwards (Night Edition Premium Plus) the car was fitted with the "AMG Performance exhaust system".
Regarding 'adaptive cruise' this has never been a standard feature on any of these models because Mercedes like you to pay extra for it along with other so called safety features in the Driving Assistance Package, which in September 2020 was priced at £1695.

That’s helpful thank you, do you know if the “AMG Performance Exhaust System” was a standard fit on Premium Plus or an option? Many thanks

I have checked back the price lists for 2019 and 2020 and I originally thought it was only standard on the Night Edition Premium Plus, but having looked closer it is listed as standard on a 2019 C63, so by default the C63 S of the same year would also have it.
So to answer your question it is standard on all of the C63 models from at least June 2019.
It is also listed as standard on the C43 from same time period, so that will be all of the AMG models then.
Sometimes it is tricky to figure out exactly which has what and when. :D

what you need to look for is the panel where your hand rests with all the buttons for drive mode etc
if you want your car to sound good (and you do) then make sure it's got THIS button highlighted with the green arrow, it's sometimes paired with an explanation of 'sports exhaust' but in reality it controls a valve to let the sound and air out and allow the v8 to breath and sound like a real v8

if it doesn't you might be disappointed with your v8.

cheers

no problem, trust me you want that button. I do too, and I also want a C63 with that button, like this one. It's a Swedish website but I think you'll understand the pics.

FYI the link I shared is a C63 so not as powerful as a C63s, but still beautiful and still on my wish list.

I could be wrong (certainly wouldn't be for the first time) but I am thinking that all UK C63 models should have this button because all have the 'AMG Performance exhaust system'?
I have not seen any official option to upgrade the exhaust.

While speaking about exhausts I found out that the default drive mode on my lowly 4 cylinder car only has one of the 2 exhausts working.

I don't live in the UK so you could be right, but i'd definetly check this center console for the existance (or not) of the button
