The big metal thing is a thermostat housing, nothing to do with cold starting, or indeed any starting, and the top one looks like a temperature sensor that alters vacuum.. from the pic.. which may or may not be connected with starting

Thanks Rob

You sound correct because the main pipe from the radiator to the engine goes through this module and it looks like the source for engine cooling.

These pics (with the yellow arrow) shows the precise location of the part

Any idea of how/where i can get one please ?

My poor ''Ruby'' has been stagnating in the garage for almost 5 months :(

Photo 1.png Thanks Rob

Sounds accurate - as the main hose from the radiator passes through the big metal ''thing''.

Better photos attached

Any ideas on where/how I can get one please - my poor car has been stuck in the garage for over 5 months now :(

Thanks in advance

Hi Rob

You were absolutely spot on - I checked on ebay and saw similar parts.

The correct description and part number is : OE Mercedes #1302030173 Thermostat Housing Assembly W108

Thanks a million

Any help with locating one would be much appreciated

thanks

I'm not sure if I have one, but I'll check my stock tomorrow.
