you chaps have the wrong end of the SL stick

only about 11,000 500 SL (r107) were made. Probably only about 1,000 surviving. Probably a lot fewer than that in the UK. Exclusivity guaranteed and increasing every year.

11,817 I think the official figure is - whereas the 420SL numbered 2147 if you want real exclusivity - it also is devoid of that horrible rubber spiler!

Not much point in stealing a 107 anyway as a policeman on a bicycle will overtake you by the time you reach the end of the road or it will rust before you get it home .

Actually, I do it a disservice. I did a 250mile trip the other week at the legal limit where possible on the motorway and A roads, and got over 25 mpg.
