Sounds nice Malc, not many C140's these days, well, I haven't seen many.
What was the verdict then Malcolm??
Thank you Peter, I am going to by it, it is a very clean 1 owner CL420, one little graze on the flair of the off side front wing and the central locking does not work, so I cannot tell if it has soft closing (the owner died 2 months ago the man's son thinks it has got it), most of the things it has are not on the data card anyway as many things became standard on the last few cars made, just like the SL's 129's.
No rust not even a spec anywhere, the leather is black, not my choice colour.
The 18" AMGs will need a re furb and the central locking to sort out, but I should manage that, its 80k miles with all bills and history indie serviced in the main.
Malcolm, congratulations on your purchase. I certainly enjoyed the CL420 that I had and other than routine maintenance I didn't have any problems with it at all.
If it is a late one I would expect that it would have soft-close. Not sure about it being tiptronic though? Mine was a '98 S-reg and it just had the standard 5 speed box.

Any parts needed Carls going to be your man!
Well Malcom did you get it? Hope this helps
So when will we be graced with pics?
Just waiting for the log book, the car was owned by the sellers deceased father, the private plate was difficult to take off the car as the son not the registered keeper, so he had to put the car in his name and now just waiting for the log book to come back.
This is the car, I saw it on the 2nd day and got it for a lot less

That looks a very nice car indeed Malc! Looks at home on the streets of central London
I see it is badged as a CL600.....
And they will be the first things to go,, it can stay badge less I think, that makes it easier to clean
Malcolm! You know it should be exactly as Mercedes intended it to be, and that means getting the correct badge!
