Mercedes lacquer is hard, from around 2003 they switched to a ceramic coating so it can take a lots to remove swirls, just take your time to polish to avoid burning through

Some 4-5 years ago I took 3 days to do my X-Type with a DA, still had evidence of orange peel but even today she still looks good from the effort, clayed 3-4 times a year and always sealed with CarLack68

I hope your SL gives you as much pleasure as I get from mine. I quake at the idea of some major bill just around the corner, but the sheer joy of roof-down sunny days just makes anxiety evaporate. I have to wrestle against my desire to drive it every day, as I'd like to keep the mileage down.

My neighbours smiled last weekend because I washed it on Saturday and again on Sunday. It just looks lovely when sparkling clean. I suspect I'll be doing the same next weekend.

horror stories aside, a little homework and I convinced myself "do it"
sometimes you just have to take the plunge, and yep, dote on her like its your first born
whilst i did involve wifey in the process she already thinks she's lost me for the rest of summer! ...probably...
