UPDATE:
Clearly there must have been something boring on Breakfast TV as after my third email I received an email with a pdf attachment from the ULEZ Nobbers stating I was in fact 100% compliant. Now to try to get my £400 refunded.

I blame the new WFH madness. No proper access to the database, working on home broadband, feeding the cat, doing the laundry and all without any supervision or oversight. Be honest, would you put in 8 hours if there’s no one to ensure you do?
I’ve always been self employed so no work no money but the full time paye brigade go ‘sick’………and get paid! So tell me they’re slogging away at home….’Your call is important to us, we are receiving an unprecedented volume of calls at the moment, you are number 225 in the queue.!
We’re doomed.

Reading all these posts makes me glad I have a petrol car.
You all have my sympathy trying to deal with a government department at the moment.
I think some petrol cars are non compliant aren’t they?

Good progress, and good luck with both fights ie carpark and TfL :)

DVLA are rapidly becoming pointless, IMHO. Boss's Defender got stolen 3yrs ago, never recovered. He replaced his Disco 4 back in December, and we got talking about the private reg he had on the Defender... I said he'd missed the window to reclaim it, but ran a search on it anyway - no mention of it being stolen, so put it on retention and reassigned it to Disco 5! They don't seem to have the faintest idea what's going on.

Whilst some undoubtedly take advantage WFH that's not true of everyone.
I've worked from home for over 2 years now (as has MrsLK) and spend more time behind my desk than I ever did in the office and have fewer distractions (people walking up and asking questions when I'm in the midst of something so lose train of thought, protracted coffee machine discussions, extended pub lunch breaks, commuting difficulties making for late starts etc).
Both MrsLK's and my employer have seen productivity rise through lockdowns.

In my own case I can be anywhere in the world and much of what I do would be remote so it makes no difference where I am. My employer is even happy for me to travel to our French property and work from there for a month at a time if I wish (and we've done so a few times).

Before covid my son was travelling around Europe with his job.. For the last six months before lockdown his Mondays and Fridays were spent on planes and trains. Now he works from home. He's glued to his desk from 9 am, in zoom meetings, interviews and all the other stuff till he stops answering his phone in the evening... five days a week.

Used to have a C63...
I know if I worked from home SFA would get done
I've had to work from home for parts of both jobs, for last 10 yrs+, and I'm same as LK. For last job, if people didn't get responses, I did nay get paid. For current job, if I don't do the "desk" type stuff, jobs don't happen (or accidents do)... so the work gets done.

My other half is single-handedly keeping Amazon Kindle book sales afloat, however! (She's also self employed but only has to make a cursory glance at her two screens from time to time, it seems).

I do apologise for the generalisation. I’m sure many are committed and often over worked. I was only referring to those I’d encountered..
