My Merc C Class voice control only does navigation

I just bought a 2015 C Class Sport 2.2 Diesel.
When I activate voice it just goes straight to sat navigation. That works OK.

Bit I cant seem to get telephone or music etc. It just doesnt seem to be there.
Can anyone advise me on this. I am not particularly technically minded.

Does Navigation work on voice control? Most cars of that era have the voice button but not the system to go with it. If it works with Nav, then it should work with the others - but it’s a ”stupid” system that requires very specific phrases.

If you only have the Audio 20 system I believe that only does commands for Sat Nav. You need a full Comand system for Linguatronic to work on all functions. Try entering your VIN into a Vin decoder to see which system you have https://www.lastvin.com/

Does it work if you have the Music or Telephone screens showing first?

Can that be upgraded easily?

Upgrading anything from supplied on a merc is expensive and complicated.

Can be done but not easy and certainly not cheap.

In my experience Linguatronic is pretty useless because it has to be such a specific phrase. It is certainly nothing like Siri or other voice activated systems. I have tried it once or twice but, in the end, I always find it quicker just to use the menus in the normal way. Personally, I don’t think you’re missing much!

That all makes sense.
I have to admit that its a bit of a shock that my cheap old Suzuki had all the voice commands but the posh Mercedes doesnt!
But it is what it is!
Looks like I will have to live with it then.

I don't think you are missing much either. The Sat Nav is very poor and sorely tries my patience. Never tried it for music. The Parktronic has only worked twice in 5 years-something else I've never needed.

Whilst better than the R172 before think its Toyota or Lexus next for me

Not worth it you will never recoupe any money , is it garim where maps are on card. I have bought a few to upgrade maps for around £25 works great and has speed camera alert etc. worth it to bring maps up to date.

Thanks mercmandi-thats a good tip. I live in London which is speed camera crazy!!
I try to keep to ther limits but a lot of the limits are nuts.

I also have same problem just bought 2021 c220 amg voice button takes me to sat nav voice commands does nothin pretty sure it is command because I get command message when 1st starting vehicle
tried to check in using https://www.lastvin.com/ error not on database
is it possible to get voice commands working
I also tried merc me that just gives me weather and internet radio

I would have thought a 2021 car would have MBUX which should have the full “Hey Mercedes” voice capability. Have you checked your owners manual for guidance?

I gave up with the voice commands on my 14 plate ML a long time ago .... just easier to use the dial & the screen

seems I do have MBUX i had to turn off car play then Bluetooth worked but only the voice button

settings have no voice assistant or Linguatronic options I went on Mercedes online c class 2021 but they mention Linguatronic which I can't find if I use the steering wheel voice but then my commands work on nav and media if I hold the voice button for 3 secs beep then it says mobile voice active
