My SAT Nav does not my house number

Great to see the letters in the correct order.

My eldest niece (who is ridiculously OCD about some things) came up with that when she was about 11-12yo... she's now 19. I've been saying it ever since

in my experience its mostly how you enter the address.

A given postcode (even done correctly in life and on the sat nav software using up to 8 characters) can be 1/4 of a mile from the physical location you want.

They were claiming UK 100% postcode mapping, was complete circa 2010 I believe

The next step is to use the house number (I seldom use, being happy with the right end of the right road etc.), that's if you can find how the menus actually function / don't jump past by mistake. This should normally get you about 20 yards away.

Remember where its obvious they don't list every single permeation. Its so you find the place, its not to enable you to put a device within 20mm.

Same with my X Trail, A3 and 211... home, work, sisters/brothers/parents houses etc. I'm really CDO about wiping the memories of things that I then sell.

my car's original plate was S5000 it cost over 110k and yet when I got it I had the names, addresses and phone numbers of all his mates... and there was well over 70 !!! a few clicks in command and they all vanish

The guy that owned my late SL had about 70 girl friends, they all had funny names, I was going to play a joke on them, but they got wiped.

For that Ikea you just look for the biggest queue of traffic in MK Malcolm you need to get yourself to Costco!!!

Mystery Solved -All house numbers don't come up when u enter the post code and then search for house numbers but if you enter street in the sequence of entering address system will show all the post codes ( if the system is unto date - as mine was)

Hopefully useful tip for some one in same position as me

Service guy said its to do with how the data is stored in the system

Thanks for update, but it is so wrong that MB cant implement a proper search considering how much they charge for a nav system compared to garmin/tom tom.

Agreed the service person tried to justify saying this is how all Sat Nav work, I told him i begged to differ as in my Prev Garmin and current Tom Tom on entry of post code all house numbers come up. He also said my current in Car Sat Nav data is provided by Tom Tom.

It is astounding that the MB system still doesn't work properly with UK post codes. As the OP says, a Garmin works perfectly entering the postcode and the house number. Very poor in my opinion, and one of the reasons why we still use our Garmin even though we have a 2012 mapped Comand in our car.

I never program my satnav for my house number, just in case someone nicks my car....

I'm lucky enough to have a police station close by so my home address is that...!!
