Yes guys I'm very pleased that everything went to plan to achieve the desired result.
I had delays, additional costs, etc.etc. but we tend to forget about all these thinks when things work out eventually.
As to the mod, I have checked for leaks and I'm happy to say that I have none. The rubbers look in pretty good condition so I don't know if I'm just lucky with this or they have been done before I bought the car.

I do have a question though. Is it normal to get a cloning noise from the sbc pump for a few seconds when you turn the ignition key on. Or, is it something I need to be looking into.
no warning messages and everything works fine, just don't know if this is the norm or aN issue.

Yes the SBC pump will run for a few seconds on opening a door or turning on the ignition. There is a damper kit for this as a mod.

Malcolm, can you point me in the right direction on this, what I need and what I will need to do. You can pm me if it's against any forum rules as I don't want to upset anybody.

What does the kit do?
will it get rid of the noise. I must admit, it does not sound nice on a car like this.
Thanks for your valued advise, as always.

You just get the damper pipe from Mercedes, but it needs STAR to fit it.

Sorry for the late reply, try MB Centre in Colwick, just next to the race coarse. If you let them know Mr Nears pointed you in their direction they'll look after you, you can make a day of it as well, there is the park and ride just next to the race coarse £3 return to the centre.

A few photos of the car now that it had a final machine polish and waxed.
it also had a new windscreen fitted as the old one had a few scratches and a chip.

Love it! Im collecting parts myself to facelift mine to the standard 63. If you dont mind me asking where did you acquire the front grill and headlight carriers, was is straight from the dealer?

Thanks for your comments. All the body parts came as a package deal from the supplier but looking at them I think that they are OEM parts.
looking forward to seeing your conversion thread raj.

V6Matty, it was all done by the guy from the bodyshop and myself. Took a few hours.
We first sanded it down with 3000 wet N dry, than machine G4, than Meguires polish and finally Meguires Carnauba Wax based deep shine detailing polish.
bodyshop is based in Sheffield. Really good guys and love cars. If you want their details send me a pm and I will give you their details.

Going back 6 years one wide body firm proudly showed their conversion, forum members pulled it apart all of where nothing lined up at all, yours is perfect in that respect.

The thing with any conversion is attention to detail and cost.
even the bodyshop said that it's the best they have ever done but also the most costly due to what I wanted and how I wanted it.
These conversions take a lot of time in getting them to fit correctly and spending the time on the preparation. This time and detail comes with a cost.
I was very clear what I wanted, asked them what the process is, literally down to every prep stage and did not offend them by wanting them to do the job for half the price. You get what you pay. I also went to inspect the job at least twice a week and made them aware from the start that I will be doing this.
They saw my commitment to the project and in fairness they stood up to the challenge.
I'm very pleased with them and the trimmers and will highly recommend them to anybody.
Thanks for the comments Malcolm. Appreciate it.
