Re the front loudspeakers , as they stand with the Bose, the cones point inwards and the optimum sound is below the dash. In the late SL that I had, that car had Harmon sound where the cones point more upwards, so much better, the late cars also has tweeters in the triangle mirror covers pointing inwards. I have spent my life in top end HiFi, so sound is important to me.

That is so right. We are redoing the mountings for the new component speakers to go in the doors with the tweeters in the front triangle section by the front of the window. Needless to say all run via crossovers.
The bigger slimline sub is having a purpose build sub enclosure to the correct specifications and will be fitted in the passenger footwell. This will run from it's own dedicated amp.
The system has an Acustimaster type set up ( excuse my lack of technical vocabulary ) so that it can be tuned to the enclosure area of the car.
All beyond me to be honest but I'm told it will be just what I want.
We shall see :D

Yes Dynamat is going to line the inside of the doors and other areas as well.
I want the sound system to sound sweet. Good treble, mid range and a deep base. Has to sound good at low volume not just loud. The brief on the audio was that this is not going to be a loud sound of system but a sophisticated clear crisp sound that can be listened to both as background music with the roof up as well as good with the roof down. The Bose system was good so this needs to be much better. So Dynamat needs to be used to deal with any possible acoustic distortion or vibration.

DynaMat is amazing stuff, it works both ways and insulates the noise from getting in as well.

The trick to it is not to use too much, panels need to sound "dead" when you knock them, use strips and make sure you do the floor pan as well

Been looking for a number plate to suit the car and finally managed to get this. I think it will do nicely.

A panel was made to fit into the dash and for the new alpine head unit to fit into it to try and get that factory look.
sub was fitted in a compartment that we fabricated in the footwear and this is covered by the carpet to keep the stealth look. Amps and crossovers have been fitted in the boot with a bit of a design feel to them. Component speakers in doors and next to window.
