Thanks for your feed back, there's a "600" for sale on Auto Trader, but I'm not sure about the colour (fussy git)
An SL 55 (F1) would be nice, but there are none of those around at the moment.

Your advice on keeping money back for potential repairs is well heeded, thanks.

Interesting...checking the VIN on this there's nothing on the performance pack nor 'F1'.Not sure if the VIN would show it but I'd have thought so?

For £30k it looks a bargain against the other one at £45k

Didn't look that far but you could be right, or maybe a trick of the lights after over enthusiastic hoovering!

It will be hard to find a good 2005 SL55 for £20k. I have also been looking at an Aston Martin Vantage and Maserati Grantourismo neither of which come in at £20k but £30k is doable for a 2006 Vantage or a 2008/9 GT. Have you thought about the SL500? Not hugely slower than an SL55 and with mods can be made to sound like one, for your budget you will be able to find a 5.5l version.
