Wow what a mean spirited thread. Totally out of proportion. Loads of outrage and calls for retribution. For a broken number plate ffs. It's like reading the Daily Mail.
And why the nastiness to young Michael G 2? He's no more childish than most peeps here, and none of us know his true circumstances. There is an ignore function if you don't like his posts. I'm using it to try and filter out the Daily Wailers. Hopefully they're using it on me too :D

it's all light hearted fun no one will die as a result of a post made here & young M can give as good as he gets then some ......... speaking for myself i don't discriminate between members able bodied or not ? the web is a great leveler we are all equal

Back to the old biddy.
Personally I would have asked the police to attend and have her breathalysed. Frankly if you cannot park a car in that gap you have a serious problem. Her attitude was bang out of order, sellotape indeed! I bet her attitude would have been different if it was a Mondeo or Vectra she had hit. People certainly give you grief because you drive a nice car. I just wonder what she would have said if the tables had been reversed and Malcolm had hit and damaged her car?

I aggree roofless ..........I have nowt against young Michael G 2 .....................................BUT...............If yer having a meaningful, consentrated discussion on (In my case Losing Water) what I don't need is young Michael G 2 papping in with some inain, not relevent comment that puts me & others off our train of thought..........

he don't own/work/had experience on Mercedes & just posting to "be There" is dis-conserting for members who really do have a "genuine" point of view or helpful suggestion to put across

Look at it this way ..........THIS thread WAS about Malc & some old Dolly reversing into HIS car ...........& 11 Pages later here we are discussing "some Kid" who aint even passed his Driving test yet .........................

NUFF said..................... Subject CLOSED (On MY part)

Hey there Mercmadjim I see you have a CB250 G5 1974 - I had one of those in 1976. Mine was blue "N reg". I loved that bike until the overhead camshaft siezed!

The G5 wasn't as fast as the CB250 K series that preceded it though.

My dream bike at that time was the CB750 4 and if one came along at a reasonable price today I would consider buying it.

I have a VFR 750 presently.

(Apologies for posting this in the "Little OLd Ladies" thread)

mine is a green one, there was a picture of my bike on the Honda owners club site, it might still be there!!

Yes it still is......

Hi Malcolm,
Sorry to hear about your mishap. I've just read the thread in its entireity and a lot of good advice given. I guess you're like me, you would sooner take the bumper off yourself and have it sprayed up by someone of your choice. As you will know insurers tend to steer us all to their crash repair centres, if you don't use their recommended repairer you forfeit the option of a loan car. The car will probably be away a month and quality of repair varies.

I've got the parts for my back bumper repair, all I need now is better weather and the time to do the job.

Hope you soon get it sorted and glad there are no complications. Most guilty parties tend to be reasonable in these circumstances to save their no claims. My son had a minor mishap in a siupermarket car park resulting in him slightly damaging another car. The eldely owner was very understanding and took my son at his word that he would pay for the repair without involving insurance. My son duly paid the repair for £350. I hope I would be as understanding in such a situation and the gentlemans car was only 6 months old.

Hope you soon restore the SL to original condition.

Regards
