It’s not peddle lag, Mercedes just have a much longer throttle travel than other manufacturers, almost 30% I remember reading somewhere

Exactly. And they deliberately damp the initial response curve in favour of low speed control.

Gaz, I'm sure you enjoy it and that's fine, however I have yet to find a car with such bad 'lag' that I can't just adapt my driving style and inputs to overcome it, nor any device between throttle and ECU that can open the throttle faster than the ECU will allow.

my , view ,
Gazwould swears by those sprint boosters.
Most of the rest of us take the view that they do nothing that can't be achieved with a less delicate prod of the right foot.
As you rightly say they open the throttle more for a given amount of pedal movement. Just pushing the pedal harder accomplishes the same result.
my view, anything like that has ,if it does anything ? non desirable side effects . if unhappy suggest just get a car with more poke.simples , that may also have undesirable side effects . mpg ,higher insurance more costly servicing tyres /brakes ect .

So you're denying that chaps creditable findings on the bareback Joe 1 year ago who rigged up a switch to bypass the pedal and observed the throttle plate..

"at full setting, the butterfly opened visibly/noticeably faster.. not drastically but an increase none the less. (This ruled out the previous thought of a different driving style, or depressing the pedal faster would produce the same result, as the switch ruled out human responsiveness, making it obvious that another factor is present)"

and a video you've not seen yet of another bloke a month ago rigged up a camera in his stripped back engine bay and stomping the pedal observing a marked difference in throttle plate opening between stock and SB ?

I refer you to the pdf file I uploaded.

I'm very pleased you like yours but nothing will persuade me to part with £300 to fix a problem I don't have and there is no way I'll recommend anyone else does on the basis of the science behind the device and an understanding of how FBW throttles work, particularly with respect to input filtering and dynamic mapping.

No amount of badgering from you will persuade me otherwise either.

Which cannot explain real world documented / filmed results of throttle plates opening quicker - buy if you have a delay.

Closed minds , ignorance , entrenched views , now proven wrong , it was only a matter of time as the truth always comes to light .

The pdf is 2007 out of date and refers to the very first version which has been improved on twice over to version 3 with the addition of extra features that no other pedal box has .

Not £300 , it's £195 .

Throw the science in the bin , too much theory Al..

Even then in chemistry etc the scientific outcome was not always as predicated .

Stick to and live in the real world Al , do you think tyres are the width and aspect ratio sizes as stated on the sidewall ??

£300, £200, £100 or £20. I'd still not spend the money to fix a problem I don't have nor recommend someone else does.
If you ignore the science does that mean it works in some unspecified way beyond the knowledge of modern science? Magic perhaps? Or maybe pixie dust? Ah, I know it must be ground up unicorn horns mixed with rocking horse droppings. Certainly smells like there are droppings of some kind in there.

I'm glad for you there's no delay for yours.

Again the worldwide sales and reviews outweigh anything negative said here by some special people who think they know better .

As you’re so concerned about the safety issue I hope you’ve done the right thing and written to Mercedes Benz to highlight this serious issue.

Please update the forum with the response from Mercedes.

What do tyres have to do with throttle pedals and ECUs?

A whole heap of people believed they could protect themselves from Covid-19 by injecting themselves with disinfectant because Trump said so. Doesn't make it true.
