As for the rustbuckets, you must be hanging out with the wrong kind of 107 owner. Jensen indeed, you'll be telling me that Mazda MX-5s are collectors cars next. I thought you had to be of the bottomless money pit type to own a Jensen, even when they weren't as old as they are now. Ah well, each to his own I suppose. You can't call a 107 ugly though, they are very clean cut and of their time, all 19 years of it. That's some kind of benchmark to weigh others against.

You are right there. I went to see this one:

New rear quarters, both arches gone.
Rear valance, rusted in corners behind bumper.
Front valance, mostly missing!
Front wings, rust round lights, arches and lowers.
Sills, rust at leading edge by wheel arch had been glass fibred.
Drivers side footwell, a huge hole you could put your hand in!
All rubbers around glass needed replacing. I'm serious, there were plants growing round the windscreen and mushy moss in all other windows.

Repaint of n/s door, probably the whole car. Now, I know eBay is the worst place to find a classic, but this one was local and I thought I had nothing to lose by viewing it as it was only 10 mins drive from me. I was shocked thjough. Even if I got the car for £500, it would need a pretty major amount of work to make it right, I'm reckoning on £5k just in parts and paint. What a shame.

not saying that there are not nice 107's out there but the majority seem to be like that one
