A very deluded young man telling me his C204 3.5 V6 N/A BlueEfficiency AMG Sport Edition 125 was a real A M G , Amazon / Ebay AMG tailgate badge + front wings BlueEfficiency badges replaced with AMG Edition .

Then it got worse , he told me it was Supercharged , bonnet already popped and open , surprise , surprise , wot no supercharger !

Honestly these twats must be on a Kilo of weed a night .

I wanted a R172 SLK 55 (to replace the R172 350 I’d sold in Oz) when we moved back to the UK. My wife talked me out of a 55 into a SL. I still have very mixed feelings. We got the SL for touring which, between grandkids being born and at teh other end, dying relatives the touring has not happened as often as I would have liked. A 55 would have been way more appropriate, for me, for the 5 years I’ve now had the SL.

To be fair - I’m extremely happy with the SL - it is an awesome car and on another level of comfort compared to a SLK/SLC . However, the intention had been to to a lot of touring which as things turned out never happened so the SLK55 would have been ideal for me to run around in.

As for the wife.... we’ve been together for 48 years & married for 44 of them, it would be too difficult to swap horses at this stage.......

I've mentioned this is in jest to an owner before, he just thought that AMG was like S line. We have a chap here that drives a 2014 BMW 320d, dressed up as an M3, he must realise that everyone knows this is just a 320d. I really don't understand why people do this?

Similar to comments slightly further above, there’s a chap a few streets away who has an a7 tdi, dressed as an rs7 replica and usually races an s5 on my street between the speed speed bumps. I just don’t get it.

Nice motor! Well into his Eighties and still got a lovely motor, and presuming still enjoying his motoring, if he wants a AMG badge on his car, so what! Think he deserves it.
