Interesting analysis of the problem but surely BMW are only able to provide this diagnosis/excuse with the owners admission or a laboratory analysis.
And why pray did they need to replace the bottles and strainers ?
Do people not know how to clean anything.

I would love a BMW executive to be told by a hotelier "we had to replace the shower system sir you used the incorrect shower gel"

I would imagine the man might be getting a call from a BMW pr person hoping to stamp this out before the story gets picked up more visibly the man in question will be offered a few freebies methinks, maybe even some of this magic BMW screen wash.
