Flat battery on my w210 e320 so its time for a new one. Any advice of the best place to buy? I am Bristol based although I will probably buy on-line.

Thanks Malcolm, really wondered whether anyone had experience of buying one online as its challenging to drive somewhere and buy one with a flat battery!

Fortunatly I have a second car and some jump leads so can be done but a quick search online highlighted plenty of online vendors.

I will have a look in Costco and compare with online prices and try and report back!

Hi,
Buying a lead acid battery on line can have its draw backs as there will be problems shipping a wet battery, friend of mine had to buy acid and fill his new battery himself.
Try your local Euro car parts they are quite competitive.

W210 battery

My brother in law got my new battery (w210 Bosch 120ah?) from Costco, who I believe will replace it if faulty within 3 years. Nice to know, but I am not expecting a fault.

I've been using Yuasa batteries in the S-Class and V-Class for years and they are great. The reason I buy them is I can obtain them wholesale and when I first bought one I was suspicious about their capabilities, but as one has now been on the S-Class for almost 5 years I think it has proved itself. The one I fitted to my ex V-Class is now almost 7 years old and still going.

I also have a new one which is kept on the garage bench connected to a battery conditioner for emergencies, and the good thing is the Viano, S-Class and Range Rover all take the same size battery

Another one for YUASA Batteries, they are standard in many many motor bikes and Japanese cars plus i believe they have a lifetime Guarente.

This is correct. Replacement if faulty within 3 years and you don't need to keep the receipt!

I purchased a Bosch S5013 battery from Costco yesterday for £91. (I believe its a Bosch Silver+)

A quick search online verified that Costco are very competitive, if not cheaper for car batteries than other suppliers and carry a decent warranty. I would not have thought of Costco without advice from the forum, so thank you again!
