Hi There,

I have a 2003 W211 Mercedes E320CDI and my mechanic told me that the bushes are worn on the lower rear suspension arm (both sides).

Apparently, you cannot buy the bushes individually and need to replace the whole arm. At £250 from Merc it's a bit expensive. Is there any outfit that will sell them as aftermarker replacements?

I think it looks like this:

THanks in advance

Ask ECP they keep most in stock, and use the forum discount as well.

Just remember, if you use ECP parts, the rear camber etc will be way off, there parts are no where near OEM parts and there is no adjustment on the rear of a 211...........

Would that depend on which manufacturer, as ECP supply several makes. The one I would trust is Lemforder - they are an OEM supplier for many car manufacturers (The front stereing components on my wife's Range Rover are made by Lemforder for Lnd Rover) . The other manufacturers that should be ok are Meyle and Febi Bilstein. What are your thoughts on these?

OP - you can check for Lemforder part numbers here http://webcat.zf.com/index.asp?SPR=4

A lot of good motor factors will be able to get Lemforder and if the arm you are looking for is A 230 350 20 06 you should be able to pick these up for around £70 each

Awesome! I cant afford £70!

THanks so much

Oh dear! If you can't afford £70. I think you are going to struggle to maintain an E class.

only MB sell them, if you have airmatic as the arms are aluminium not steel as per normal suspension w211`s.

Alex Crow told me the bush is the same and have been told you could split the arm and change the bush.

i ended up just buying a new one, expensive as it was!

I have normal suspension. Not Airmatic.

If I was going to change the bush and (that's all that's wrong with it), what should I buy?

:) I know that feeling!

Have you got the part number of the part you need as you can then cross reference to Lemforder or Meyle.

Resolved

So here's what my indie found out.

Took off the rear lower suspension arms to notice that the bush (which was the only worn component) is very similar to the C-Class rear hub bush, which you CAN get as a bush and not the whole sodding arm

Tried the C-class bush and it fits perfectly. Pictures included. Hopefully it will stop somebody else buying a full set of arms at 211GBP a piece.

The 1st picture is of the Alloy suspension arm. Apologies, my earlier picture was incorrect.

The 2nd picture is of the C-class rear hub bush

3rd picture is the part number of the bush

Well done, and sorry to come so late to this party - I could have given you the part number for that bush!

The part was originally designed for and fitted to the W201 '190' series cars from the mid eighties.
It has changed part number a couple of times since, but is still the same fitment, and one from a w204 will fit a W201!

Reading the above, is it correct that my W211 (with AIrmatic) will have Ally arms and thus the bushes are non-serviceable?

Many Thanks

Thanks Alex.

Sorry, I had misinterpreted the above posts to mean that Airmatic = Alloy arm = not serviceable.

Should save a few bob..
