Hi Guys

has anybody mapped their e350 265 bhp cars? What sort of gains are we looking at? any cons?

Anything to bewary off? Did you do a DPF off map or left the DPF in place.

Thanks

Adam!

I had my C350CDi mapped by GAD Tuning from 231 to 300BHP and 540 to 720Nm of torque.

I believe the 265 goes to 310BHP and 740Nm.

Made a massive difference, nothing else changed on the car, well worth it

Can anyone comment on how their fuel consumption changed after remapping?

Just a question ? Are you on the pay roll ?.
Gad seem to be double the price of other reputable company's, offering exactly the same product .

Nope

I shopped around and went to GAD as their rep is great and service excellent, I could have used someone closer and cheaper but the figures quoted by other companies just don't add up

GAD aren't cheep but they do give you a truly bespoke Map which most places won't offer you, what you tend to find is a tuner will get a stock map of the tinterweb up all the pressures and flows and stick it on your car, no testing and very little comeback it it lunches your injectors. There are very few tuning companies out there that do the same work for less, the only one I know of is MSL but at that point it's not actually all in house, they send the maps to the US they tweek them and send them back so yes cheaper but if problems arise it can take longer to rectify, they also don't do that many diesels where as GAD pretty much specialise in them.

Celtic tuning does at half the cost and they travel to your home or place of work.

which, as V6Matty has said, are generic maps. each car is different so needs to be set up slightly different. some cars can be standard but go much better than another 'standard' car, hence a generic remap isnt necessarily the best way to go. yes it will work, but not as well on some cars than others. like the standard 'generic' map

appreciated pete but after 15 or so remaps on varying different cars and fuel types , all have been significantly better to drive , even the hyundai terracan 4x4 i use for work ! so much more punchy and flexible in gear

i dont dispute they work as i know they do, but having it customised to your particular vehicle and/or particular needs can be a bonus. i could have my car generically remapped, but im not sure that the gans would be where i would need them necessarily. with a remap from someone like GAD i could have the map custom tweaked to my own needs. if i could, for example, keep the turbo on boost for another 1k RPM over what it currently boosts to, it would make it more fun to drive for me, as i could use more of the rev range (seems pointless having an engine that revs to 5k RPM but runs out of boost at well below 4k RPM and the extra boost RPM would still leave 4-500RPM of 'off boost' rev band for safety)
