Gave it an "Italian Tune Up", it is still clogged from the faulty thermostat so gave it a nice long constant speed drive with some acceleration points inbetween

Let me know how you find it.

I have some ring products but, always find these things with integrated lights to be a case of try before you buy as the light spread and intensity could be below reasonable expectations.

Well the RING camera unit is up and I’m quite pleased with the results.

The daytime and nighttime definition is acceptable and the 2 x banks of 4 LEDs work ok with my existing porchlight and floodlight.

The RING camera (supplied with one 3.6V battery) will accept two batteries which I’d recommend I bought the extra one direct from RING

Well in the last month its had esl replaced and today a new battery as well as hitting a pothole on my way to work the other week which cost 2 new winter tyres. Hopefully Rotherham Council payout for that one. Also changed to Km just for the 300k shot

300k wow. What's that about 180k miles or thereabouts? Good going.

Lovely stuff, what's your service intervals like? I've recently taken ownership of a W204 C350 CDI too, so I'm looking for some pointers :)

I don't know what the oil and filter change interval is on your vehicle.
When I purchased my Vito from new in 2005, they recommended every 18K which I thought was a bit excessive. I was contracting at Nissan in Washington at the time and got talking to another contractor, who was a diesel fitter.
He said with Mercedes engines, if you religiously change the oil and filter every 10K you could guarantee half a million miles.....so approaching nearly 700K I am still running the original engine. And yes I have done 65 oil changes in my time. Because of warranties back in the day, you had to have your vehicle serviced by the main dealer....so it was the 18K service for the first two years. So after another oil change, fitted a set of very powerful air horns as I am fed up of drivers thinking roundabouts are actually straight and don't follow the road markings and just cut you up.

Bought it some tyre valve caps (with AMG on of course - wonder how long they’ll last) the ones on the car didn’t have the rubber o ring seal in them
I always avoid metal caps due to corrosion sealing them are these a safe alternative?

Beware of light fingered kids, my neighbour put some special ones on his TVR and within a week they had gone never to be seen again.

A little smear of grease on the threads works wonders.

I don’t know who fitted the horrible plastic caps without a seal on the car but as far as I know Mercedes caps from the factory come with the o ring seal in them

Have the tyres have been replaced? If so, then chances are the valves have too.

Washed the “pterodactyl” poop off the bonnet after a nights parking under a tree in Oxfordshire… drove it back north in the rain and it didn’t shift much of it…

All this talk of selling, have you bought a 3ltr V8 FF Triumph estate?

You know the one then

But alas, no :(
Missus said. We retired now, so having 12 cars is a bit silly, plus she is putting away her purse, so I now have to be like everyone other retirie and go away in the campervan
