Finally finished the changeover of aluminium to wood trim on the CLK .
Rear panels were a bit of a faff tbh. Had to remove rear seats, most of the seatbelt gubbins, rear centre console and half the rubber door seal on both sides To get the panels off. But……..now looks :cool:
Brucie bonus was I was able to lubricate the parking brake mechanism so now that releases like it is supposed to as opposed to sticking on like a very sticky thing.
So what with that, the trim, installing the speakers, waterproofing the roof, getting the drop links done this week as well as a second gearbox fluid change to flush the remnants of the old oil, it will have been a productive couple of weeks for the old girl.

considering re-trimming my W212 saloon in an opulent white leather - anyone done a full retrim inc seats, carpets and door cards? if so any contacts?

it doesn't need it as the seats are like new - but fancy a change of colour

How much is that going to cost. And how long will white remain white?

I replaced two pillar trims that had rust bubbling under the surface and a chip on one of them.
Once again it was cheaper to get the parts from my main Mercedes Dealership than on Ebay. It's always worth checking.

My W213 had almost white leather and looked perfect after 48k miles :)

Gave the EGR valve a much needed clean. Mo "after" pics because my phone said something about not touching it after I'd touched THAT thing

Then took it for a drive to see if it'd cured the "no turbo after 10 mins" problem it hasn't

Near enough exactly 10mins of full performance again, then back to slug mode. But, on a whim, I stopped and restarted at the 15 minute point and the turbo was back. For near enough exactly another 10 minutes. Then not again.

There has to be a logical explanation!

Just imagine, if you can, what the inside of your inlet manifold looks like......

Great work, I admire the effort. My first thought when I saw the photos was the Brigade had had been in there with the lack of roof!

I’m lounging around with Covid (no symptoms), so I thought I’d investigate the drivers side, front rattling, definitely only drivers side and a gentle touch on the brake stops it, whilst the pedal is depressed (like the owner!).
Expected a track rod end or drop link etc, but nothing obvious, repacked and adjusted bearing - less ‘Road noise’ but still clinking and light clunking.
Noticed that the discs and pads were at the end of useful life so. having time, I thought I’ll paint up the callipers and renew the offending bits.

Long story short (you wish): The drivers side, pad retaining clip was snapped and I’ve had to order it. I’m just hoping that this solves the tinkle issue?

The callipers came-up brilliantly with brushed on Hammerite and very straightforward, two coats plus drying time, very easy! Will post pics when the jobs completed.

Replaced the accelerator pedal / TPS which has cured the "EPC fault visit workshop" message when you hit kickdown but hasn't cured the Lost Turbo Syndrome after a few minutes driving.

Ho hum!
