Did the driveshaft snap ring survive the press? Wondering if you can do the new outer CV onto the old shaft.

The snap ring is on the inner CV, this is the outer, so no snap ring. Seems the CV boot holds the CV joint together.
Got another driveshaft complete yesterday, so will use that instead now.
But yes, you can use the new outer on to the old shaft?
Will know shortly as I'll make one good spare up.

Washed it inside and out.

Also had a random "Power Steering See Owners manual" come up on the dash which has since gone away, will have it scanned this week when the new suspension arm is fitted

Delivered to Alex Crow to sort out some serious front suspension issues after a pothole
Back from Alex with a bill to make me smile - turned out it was nothing more than really badly adjusted tracking - that had been badly adjusted after I first hit the pothole and took it to have it sorted. The car really felt unsafe, now it feels fine. Won't be using that outfit again. It is the second time I have had issues this year with poor tracking setups, different company doing the wife's car.

Arse... Smart car horn (Klaxon...;)) worked on the way there and guess what, it was working on the way home as well...

Soaked it in WD40 as it's persisting down here - Sat it in the garage as SLK on the drive. I did a 2 mile walk in the rain from MOT station to GSF for the screen-washer pump for the SLK - wasn't in stock when I got there :( (I'd pre-ordered it and was advised it was in stock...) They found an equivalent and let me have it for the same £10.64 which was nice :) - just too wet to fit it at the moment.

Fitted Silverstream's driveshaft to Money Pit this morning. Good result, hub nut tight, abs light out, driving lovely again. Discovered there was damage to the CV joint. I must have done that while trying to remove the driveshaft from Money Pit. It was jammed in the hub, big hammer didn't work, so hub puller purchased.
I've rewarded Money Pit and sorned it as of February. Not tempting fate!
Also sorned the 55, and taxed the SLK and the lorry.
Must try and spead out the tax and insurances

Collected wife from having another operation.

Found that 65% of the hospital car parking had been closed off while additional electric charging points are being installed, closing 8x of the 12x disabled bays.

Wife is disabled with a blue badge, not only were the general parking spaces full, so were the few remaining blue badge bays. The only bays available were electric charging ones (4x spare).

I put the AMG in an electric parking bay with blue badge displayed by way of explanation for any ranting Eco warriors, it was a private hospital so I knew there would be no formal repercussions.

I though it would only be 15 mins as I was picking her up but instead turned onto 2 hours as her consultant decided he wanted a last minute post operative Xray.

I was expecting a lynch crowd upon return but survived, still wondering if the car will appear on a social media rant somewhere!

I've copied this idea from another forum that I use (A Ford Transit Forum) of all things!

I quite look forward to getting the e-mail notifiers that someone has posted something... De-badged their van, polished it, new wheels maybe... even a new air freshener....

Just a bit of fun really....

So, come on...

Got it washed. Took Katie to a sailing club meet in Weston-super-Mare yesterday and the only access was about quarter of a mile along the beach!

Yesterday the horn stopped working again... so today I stripped the front end of the car off to get to the Klaxon I'd fitted ~13 years ago...

There was a poor connection on the back of the Klaxon with some corrosion, in a hurry so refitted the original horn which I found straight away sitting in a bin on my wall racking - see I knew it would come in useful...:p

Took it in for an early morning visit to MBS to replace the rear prop flexi-donut. Very quick job which was £45 cheaper than their estimate so a whole £113 cheaper than the Stealers quoted. If any of you are there, and have time to spare, I can recommend Piggy's Cafe just up the road,

Took it to the bodyshop after someone tried to shorten it by driving into the back... :(

Now, we wait to see if our mate Paul can keep the cost below write-off level. (Custom Coachworx, next door to Eastbourne Mercedes).

- Replaced the centre caps on the W251. They had yellowed alot and the sticker had come off one. With the blue wreath. Got a set of a known auction site for the princely sum of 7 quid with MB part nos stamped inside. Who knows (cares) if they are real.

- swapped out the navigation card on the W205 (garmin) for a 2023 card. I had the original in from 2014. Again from an auction site for 29 quid. Popped in the card, 2 clicks and perfect.
