Noticed a puddle behind the drivers wheel :( 911 had the same issue recently… seals failing on the washer bottle - SLK coming out in sympathy… No headlight washers on mine, but there is the spare white power connector for them. You can see the dampness at the bottom of the pump where it is...

Following on from this mornings saga, I now have the right driveshaft for Money Pit.
£845 from MB and a 6 month plus wait wasn't an option.
The result........

The Missus bought me this , so I removed the driveshaft and hub tonight with my son, bless him. The bolts were so tight, I couldn't have undone these buggers myself.

Not when it your windscreen wash. Filled it up yesterday evening, go to use the 55 and it shows a low washer fluid message

There is close to 15kg of pressure on the motor seals constantly, no wonder they give up over time

The SLK200 leaked it screenwash, às now my SL55, the Money Pit leaks through the headligh washer.

It's an age problem, ask the King he knows all about it, can be fixed though...

Had similar on my CL, followed my usual repair procedure (replace everything) replaced every grommet and both pumps, not having that problem again in a hurry

Good news on Money Pit, the parts I bought are wrong, turns out they were off a V6.
Wait for the next installment from Money Pit........

Did they say what year the car was the bits came off? I'm wondering if the facelift cars had a different differential. I expect you are already looking at mix and matching shaft parts about.

No, it didn't say, so I sent the parts place my reg number make model and year. They said this part fits your car! So I bought it.
It came with a new ABS sensor, and 4 recent suspension arms. I am sure this part came from a facelift e320cdi. The V6 has more horsepower than the L6. Mercedes did this another in the 60's, 70's and 80's cars by fitting larger drivetrain parts to the bigger engines. Obviously still doing it

Did the driveshaft snap ring survive the press? Wondering if you can do the new outer CV onto the old shaft.
