Noticed a puddle behind the drivers wheel :(

911 had the same issue recently… seals failing on the washer bottle - SLK coming out in sympathy…

No headlight washers on mine, but there is the spare white power connector for them.

You can see the dampness at the bottom of the pump where it is leaking.

Pump out and cleaned up and gummi pflege the grommet

Back together and noticed the leak is around the pump and not the rubber seal :(

Taken motor apart and you can see the corrosion.
New pump and grommet on order.

Quite a few leaves etc behind the washer tank. You can also see one of the scuttle drain tubes in the top right of the below picture. Cleaned it all up and temporarily back together (without wheel arch liner) whilst waiting for the pump.

Fitted the new washer pump this afternoon, all good no leaks. :)

Always “fun” refitting wheel arch liners… all back together though now.

A word to the wise - I had a washer pump fail on the 968 cab a few years ago, bought a cheapie pump off eBay, it worked for about a month then packed up. Bought a slightly more expensive pump from a well known make and fitted that, it was still going strong a few years later when I PX'd the car! Moral - as I've seen before!! - buy cheap buy twice!!

good job. washer bottle filled?
It’s filled in the picture - half filled it with aqua-tap to start with to test for leaks - then added Mercedes gen-you-ine winter screen wash additive and concentrated screen wash.

but sometimes manufactures take the proverbial. When Emily had a Seciento Fiat only sold the pump complete with the bottle at over £100 ..... a new pump would have doubled the value of the car :D Turned out it wasn't the pump anyway .... but the none return valve in the pipework had rotted & was causing a partial blockage! Doh!
