Too busy on the phone.
Same happened to a friend
A little girl, 17, ran into his rear end. I dread to think how much her insurance will be next year
An elderly lady, recently widowed, car new to her since her husband's death. All true and unfortunate for all involved, but no one was hurt so...

Tested a 19" rim on the osf to see if it would fit. It does, but its tight - the back plate looks as if its for the ceramic rotors - fingers crossed that any balance weights don't cause issues with the calliper.
Had issues removing the AMG centre cap - had to get a trim tool to prise off the bolt cover plate as it didn't come off with the centre cap.

Right rear silencer knocking this morning, likely due to a combination of Mercedes corrosion and Surrey leafy lanes.
Good thing with MB exhausts (I've found) is that they're substantial enough to weld - had the hanger rust off the back box on one MB - welded it back on and good as new

Took it to the bodyshop after someone tried to shorten it by driving into the back... :(

Now, we wait to see if our mate Paul can keep the cost below write-off level. (Custom Coachworx, next door to Eastbourne Mercedes).
Repair approved. It was close - insurance value came out as a smidgen over £5K.

A packaged arrived today from the previous owner of my other S211, a few odds and ends he had found. An MB dealer jacket, touch up paint and a small bag containing a couple of keyrings, Star logo mask and a miniature key.

The miniature key stumped me, firstly I thought it was a keyring light but no push button or a light in the end, pretty much just a solid lump of plastic, a useless keyring! The other half suggested fridge magnet, would not stick to the radiator. Then Mrs Smartharse suggested USB stick, bang on! I couldn't see the join where the cap meets it's that good. :)

Run up to the wilds of scotchland yesterday, 7 hours with a fully loaded car for a week away, roof box on too, washed the day before we left and it’s absolutely grey/white now with all the road carp, not found anywhere here to clean it yet though either, though with Aviemore just a few miles down the road there’s bound to be something there where I can was it a little.

Was going to swap over my wheels and tyres yesterday, but the AMG centre nut tool had other ideas. N/S/F refused to budge and I was concerned that the nut on the back of the tool was going to shear off. Tried wrapping an oil filter removal tool around it for better purchased but failed as the tools grip on the nut seems a little precarious. Seems a stupid design to me.
Ordered two Laserline replacements online. At least one can be sacrificial.
