i still think that your problem is key/immobiliser related
ok thanks well that a new route to follow , how do I go about getting key rematched to ignition ?
that's brilliant info thankyou I will try those things at the weekend If I can get that darn cab up , it pops when you pull lever will raise about a foot then refuse to go anymore I just cannot get it to tilt , the dash does not show code so hopefully it's not the key , thankyou again sorry to be a pain to you all but it's slowly driving me madPut the ignition on if dash display shows CODE then key immobiliser has a problem if dash does not show CODE then the key is recognised and authorised to start the engine.
If you get FR3130 then the air filter or coolant level sensors are faulty or a wire is broken to either.
The starter motor has a terminal 50 relay on top of it the wire that triggers it comes around the back of the engine from the PLD control unit. This wire and this relay suffer from corrosion.
The cab lock on a day cab is locked into the right rear cab suspension unit and the release for this is behind the drivers seat. The lever in the step is to release the cab stay to lower it.
I cant for some reason remember where the cab tilt safety catch is released.
ok update , finally got time off work and got cab up today it was the secondary latch that was holding it , ignition still showing no code , engine cranks if you bridge the starter with a spanner but won't start , will crank for around 5 seconds each time before throwing starter out , wiring around engine seems ok and no corrosion , nothing happens if you use start stop buttons on side of engine , so I am still stuck a fuses ok relays well there sealed so not sure , anymore info will be very much appreciatedPut the ignition on if dash display shows CODE then key immobiliser has a problem if dash does not show CODE then the key is recognised and authorised to start the engine.

1997 Atego on going starting issues had today come up with code MR9964 checking codes it says no transponder code to terminal 50, any ideas?
Roxie you have been so helpful and I prob do your head in , had a look today between showers , there is no terminals above the starter solenoid just the turbo block and head !!!!This fault code has probably come up because you have bypassed the transponder by bridging the starter motor.
the control unit has to energise the starter because it also pumps the fuel in via the unit pumps.
Have you tested the terminal 50 wire at the relay above the starter solenoid to see if you have a terminal 50 feed from the control unit?
