My diagnostic box throws up this fault is it a DIY thing or do I need to take it to the garage
If that is inlet port motor/swirl flaps ? What mileage has the car got , and where do you live so someone can recommend a good Indy just in case ?My diagnostic box throws up this fault is it a DIY thing or do I need to take it to the garage

Thanks I have a good Indy that services iton the facelift E320cdi , (I'm not sure if yours is the V6 om642 engine?) there is a fuse in the engine bay in the box behind the brake fluid reservoir , F44 a 15amp fuse which controls the shutoff motor .
Worth checking/changing as it may help .
The swirls flaps in the engine can gum up , the inlet port motor can fail or one of the pastic arms for it can break . We then are getting into the area where it may be worth going to a good Indy to pin down what it is because manifolds are expensive .
It's a v6 and has 130000 on the clockThanks I have a good Indy that services it
If you are basic DIY handy , you could try firstly changing fuse F44 , then have a read up on "inlet port motor resistor fix" . If you remove the plastic y piece air duct that goes into the front of the turbo you will see the ilps motor below it , there is an electrical connection that goes into this motor .It's a v6 and has 130000 on the clock

If you put a (20p?) 4.7k ohm resistor into the middle two terminals of this electrical connection it will trick the ilps into thinking it's still working .
This assumes that all the swirl flap kit is still intact and will put the car back to working order . It's a cheap quick test/fix that will indicate what is wrong , wether you choose to pay a lot of money to fix your old high mileage car after that is up to you .
I fitted this resistor a few months ago on mine .
