E class estate, 2017, 220d premium in white
Hello, just joined and picking up my E class estate on Thursday. 2017 220d with premium pack. changing from a Freelander Metropolis after a lot of research and soul searching. Land Rover was way too expensive to run and the merc looks and drives great with loads of space and comfort.
First foray into Mercedes world after a number of land rovers and VW's and hoping my decision is right

Welcome, my understanding is Freelanders are not that reliable?
Had two and only one problem with the read door release other than a decent enough car and I enjoyed both of them. Looking forward to better fuel consumption much cheaper road tax and loads of space

Pleased to hear they are better than I thought. Been retired 10 years in April, I can recommend it.

Thought I would share me early reflections on moving to Mercedes from Land Rover .
The car is stunning and lovely to drive with loads of power and enough toys to keep me happy. Miss the sitting up high of the Freelander and the seats are not as comfortable but thats minor niggles, fuel is much much better, only one irritation is when using the hold when stopping at night the brake lights stay on, it dazzles the driver behind and I was always taught hand brake on when stationary at night so as not to dazzle the driver behind, small issue though.
Being in our sixties and not as agile as we were it took a few tries to learn the right kick place and method to get the tailgate to lift without looking like an unbalanced basil Fawlty, the neighbours must have thought I was kicking the car.
It's a great choice and I think we will have many happy miles to come.

I’m also in my sixties and have just got used to “kicking” my new GLC as well. Now I’m going to think of Basil Fawlty every time I do it!

E350 CDi AMG Night Premium Plus (Sept 2015) with GAD Tuning re-map. Definitely not double badged.
For proper 'Fawlty' points try thrashing away with a tree branch to open your boot.

I'm new to Mercedes too. I bought a late 2015 E 350 D saloon on Wednesday. It was important to me to get one with folding rear seats so I can chuck my bike in the back and with them folded down it is massive in the back. Your estate must be cavernous!

Hope you are enjoying your purchase as much as I'm enjoying mine.
