There should be a forum rule that if you do that good a job you should have to take pictures !

Computer won't let me upload, says there is a security error

After all this "teasing" buddy , there better be some pics :D

There will be eventually. Just spoken with the detailer and I'm getting it back tomorrow morning but, unfortunately, the weather's going to be poor so I can't do them then. I've also got the security person round tomorrow so he'll be in the way.

I'll try to get some Thursday AM but a bit busy there too as off to N Wales later that day. so it may be late weekend. :(

Gave the car the first proper wash and polish since I bought it.
AutoGlym SRP is a great polish, but there is so much white filler in it it shows up quickly on a black car.
Need to find one suitable for black cars.
Very pleased with the tints fitted yesterday

I used Natty's Poorboys on my black 63, apparently suited to darker cars - worked well. Also Purple Haze or Black Hole made for them!

I use Bilt Hamber Speed Wax Roger and there is no white filler left when you polish off. I guess if you left it on long enough to completely dry out there might be though. It's real easy to use and buff up. :)

The other one that I used for years was Armorall Shield. Now there definitely isn't any residual powder with that and you can allow it to go onto rubber surfaces without any white residual either. Again very easy to use and long lasting polish surface. Used to be the best product winner by Auto Express. I think that that honour has now passed on to Bilt Hamber though. :)

Nice top down drive in the sun then had a bucket of water thrown over it as it’s not been washed in 2 weeks

Try AG Ultra Deep Shine, it is SRP for dark coloured cars if you are then putting a wax over it the Bilt Hamber

When I did the Front Brakes the other day I noticed that I had lost the Front Left Jacking Point Rubber, strange it was there when I did the Transmission Fluid Change a few weeks ago.
Anyway, decided to get a new one so I thought I would check the Ebay first - prices ranged from 9 to 22 pounds!
Then I called Karen at my friendly local Mercedes joint - £3.02 incl VAT!

This is why I always advise to try Mercedes first - I have found they are normally always cheaper on bits, especially on older cars, and I get a 10% Discount!

I'm just confused as to how it disappeared...??? They are like "locked" in place. Almost like a big Scrivet!

Love the wheels on the car ! Paintwork came up very well . I'd second the Poorboys Black Hole , it's more of a glaze (rather than a polish) that is designed to fill fine swirl marks in black paint . Top it off with a wax of your choice :D

Fitted the Jacking Point Rubber, which is now plastic by the way, took all of 2 minutes! If that!

And it wasn't the Front Left it was the Rear Right so no wonder I didn't notice it missing when I did the ATF - because it wasn't!

I think it is because I normally park on the drive front first so I must've reversed in when I did the rear brakes and just got it muddled up - anyway luckily they are the same....

Actually they fit all these models aswell:

Mercedes-Benz CLK320 3.2L V6 A/T Base Convertible 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
Mercedes-Benz CLK320 3.2L V6 A/T Base Coupe 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
Mercedes-Benz CLK430 4.3L V8 A/T Base Convertible 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
Mercedes-Benz CLK430 4.3L V8 A/T Base Coupe 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002
Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG 5.5L V8 A/T Base Convertible 2002
